Scott has spent the majority of his working life serving with the Royal Air Force initially as an Aircraft Engineering Technician in Avionics before becoming a multi-skilled Avionics and Electrical Technician. He has served all over the world including Afghanistan, Cyprus, Poland and Germany.
He spent most of his career working on the Harrier Jump Jet, be it supporting operations on joint RAF/RN front line Squadrons, repairing and testing LRIs (Line Replaceable Items) or as an instructor for new Aircraft Maintenance Mechanics. He even managed to land himself a position on the Harrier Display Team in 2006.
During the latter part of his career, he was given the opportunity to focus his wealth of experience into the fields of Health & Safety, Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement; becoming a recognised Chartered Quality Professional in 2013. He is also a member of Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH).
Since leaving the military, Scott has worked for the British Assessment Bureau as an qualified ISO9001, ISO14001 and OHSAS18001 external Lead Auditor, and a Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality (SHEQ) Manager for a leading UK roofing contractor. He is married with three children and in his spare time likes to chill out in his garden, growing fruit and vegetables, making his own jams and getting stuck into DIY.
Russ joined the Royal Air Force in 1986 and served a 3 year aircraft engineering apprenticeship at RAF Halton. This involved airframe, propulsion and electronic aspects as well as BTEC and OND qualifications. He then served a further 25 years throughout a variety of roles and locations, culminating in promotion to Flight Sergeant and then leaving the RAF with a total of 28 years service under his belt.
Since leaving the RAF he has worked on the railways as a Tamper driver/maintainer/operator and as an engineering consultant for Rolls-Royce in Derby. Throughout his working life, he has always been employed in safety critical environments.
Russ is a qualified Fire Risk Assessor and Manual Handling Instructor and is currently studying his NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety. He also has a comprehensive Quality Assurance background, holding the positions of Lead Auditor and Quality System Manager.
Russ will shortly be qualified as a qualitative face fit tester and will operate for Kestrel in the Cheshire/Staffordshire area (30 mile radius of Nantwich). He enjoys spending time with his children, walking his dog, playing golf and socialising with his friends and family.
